I know that it’s late. And I know that he will never read this. I don’t expect anyone to read this. But I would be remiss (and I would not be me) if I did not share my feelings on Geoff John’s run on Green Lantern coming to a close.
Mr. Johns, you created stories that I love, stories that I read over and over, and stories than I can hand to my friends and tell them “You don’t even know what you’re in for”. Your books were among the first comics that I ever bought, and that I ever cherished.
I have memories from high school of me sitting in the middle of a circle of classmates as I described the Sinestro Corps war every day in sixth period. I have memories of eagerly awaiting the next issue of Blackest Night. And I remember that you really love slurpees.
I know that I am just one fan among many, but I thank you for hard work, enthusiasm, and love of story telling. But I mostly thank you for recharging the Green Lantern Corps, which will never burn as bright again.
But I have learned from you that all will be well.
