ah, good ol batman.
DETECTIVE COMICS #2 ladies and gentlemen.
fuck that was gross.
however, it was a solid batman book and had a lot going on. love seeing bruce as well as batman of course. although i don’t like that girl, where could that possibly be going?
some quips:
-as if it would be so hard to find these people with the sewn on faces
-also commish, if batman says he needs to see the fucking face that’s nailed to the wall, you let him see it.
- although i can’t think of a specific example right this moment, i feel as though the bad guys in this are a bit old hat. but maybe they’re just not my personal taste.
DETECTIVE COMICS #1
when did tony daniel turn into frank miller?
i really didn’t like this issue, although i thought the art was pretty solid (daniel is hit or miss for me).
spoilers ahead:
so… they de-aged gordon? doesn’t make much sense, but so little does in this reboot.
so… they cut off the joker’s face? what? how is this going to work?
gah, the whole thing just rubbed me the wrong way. the way batman referes to himself, the GCPD lazily depicted as mindless idiots, rather than just on a different side of the law. all in all i hope the other titles have much more to offer.
for a reboot that was supposed to make everything new and exciting, a lot of this stuff has been done before about a million times.
preview for detective comics #857
as usual, detective comics delivered this week. my one grievance was the lesbians wearing tuxedos thing. but because this title is so great, i forgive it.
also, we get another issue next week! TWO WEEKS OF DETECTIVE COMICS!
